Surnames and Researchers in Excel Format

Subscribers to the Cumberland Mailing List at Rootsweb have created a simple, alphabetical, listing of the surnames they are interested in from England's County of Cumberland which represents a quick indication of what names list members are chasing. Corrections or additions should be submitted to Gerald Sandwith or on the CUL list.

In anticipation of a new update, an interium listing is posted here sorted by the submitter's name. Please check your submissions and provide any updates or corrections, especially to contact information. A new version, sorted, as usual, by the surname of interest, will be posted after the corrections have been collected. Thanks for your help in keeping this list useful and current.

Download the normal Surname List

To download the file, just follow normal procedures:

If you doubleclick on the link, and you have Excel installed on your computer, the file may open directly. If so, you can save it locally from within Excell using "Save As" under the "File" menu.
If you right click on the link, you should get a window asking if you want to open the file (see above) or save it to your disk. (Hint: When you save it, pay atention to where its being saved.). Then just open it normally in Excel.
